The Senior classroom visited the Ulster American Folk Park on 21st November. This trip is part of EMBRACE, a cross-border cultural collaboration developed by the North West Cultural Partnership with Inishowen Development Partnership. It is funded by the International Fund for Ireland, this initiative aims to build meaningful and lasting connections between communities on both sides of the border through creative engagement.
As part of the programme, EMBRACE are developing a new production exploring the fascinating story of local Ulster-Scots involvement in the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence, which marks its 250th anniversary in 2026. Castletown is one of five participating schools in this project, along with Ebrington PS, Scoil Naomh Bríd NS, Fountain PS and Ballougry PS.
